Within the scope of a major reinvestment, the biggest Austrian newspaper and magazine publisher Mediaprint GmbH & Co KG has increased its performance in plate logistics. NELA as a long standing partner convinced with its Just in Time concept.
The deal included in total six fully-automatic register punching and bending devices in the high-speed variant of the reliable NELA VCPevolution, which will be installed at two different print sites. The old machines had exceeded their expected lifetimes. The two extensive systems had been completely built up at NELA for pre-shipment acceptance. It was a pleasure for us to welcome Mr. Manhardt, director of maintenance of Mediaprint on this occasion in Lahr.
Four VCPevolution HS 800 with conveyor systems and two plate stacking systems with 64 plate bins each were shipped to the Austrian capital of Vienna just before Christmas, where they are currently being installed. The second system consisting of two VCPevolution HS 800 and one central plate sorter with 48 plate bins is installed in Sankt Andrä.
The NELA systems are going to increase the efficiency, performance and the degree of automation at Mediaprint. Highest precision and flexibility are guaranteed with NELA’s two-step technology that delivers up to 400 punched and bent offset plates per hour. The plates are identified by barcode and are automatically sorted according to the production list. NELA Just In Time makes sure that the plates for the next job are available at the press at the required time.
